Pre-Close Trading Update.

Civica plc, the provider of public sector software and services, today reports on trading for the six months ended 31 March 2004.

Trading activity during the period has continued to be in line with the Group’s expectations, and is ahead of both the same period for 2003 and current year budget. In particular, operating profit and cash generation continues to be strong.

Highlights during the period include:

1. A 3-year £1.7 million managed service contract with Transport for London to provide and manage a new system infrastructure for the Dial-a-Ride service.
2. A 5-year, £1.3 million deal with Apcoa Parking, to provide parking services to Southwark Council.
3. A managed services partnership with the Local Government Association of Queensland, Australia, for a managed library service for rural libraries across the state.
4. Ten new local authority wins, including Housing Benefits software for North Norfolk District Council, parking systems for Hertsmere District Council and “Authority” local government solutions for the cities of Albury and Subiaco in Australia.
5. Continued good progress in the Police sector, including number plate recognition systems for eight Police forces across the UK as well as Hounslow Community Safety Partnership involving the London Borough of Hounslow and the Metropolitan Police.

The Company intends to announce its Interim results on Tuesday 15 June 2004.
